ASUS ROG Harp Ace Mouse review
If there is one essential and very popular accessory for gamers, it is definitely the mouse. Size, weight, shape, all characteristics must be considered. During CES 2023 Asus invites us to discover the Rolls-Royce of gaming mice, with some great features.
Overview and features of the Asus ROG Harp Ace gaming mouse
The Asus ROG Harpe Ace is a simplistic-looking gaming mouse with obviously insane potential. Asus knows how to deal with gamers, especially since the mouse is an important element for anyone who spends a lot of time in the game, especially in competitive experiences.

Design and comfort: flawless
After laying hands on it for two full weeks, the Asus ROG Harp Ace stands out quite a bit from other gaming mice. In addition to being wireless, and therefore not cluttering up your gaming space, the 54 gram model allows greater mobility than usual. After a good time adapting to Overwatch 2, I quickly realized the great potential of this model.
The hull shape is rounded with two clicks slightly hollowed out to accommodate the pulp of your fingers. For once, the wheel doesn’t offer you any particular choice from then on the model is delivered by notchvery practical for video games, for changing weapons in a game for example, but offers less comfort for internet browsing.

Two side buttons are available for web browsing or programming in-game actions. Below is the button to change the DPI of the mouse, as well as a button to pair it with a computer via Bluetooth.
In terms of form, this ROG Harp Ace knows how to do it as its slightly rounded shell and its fluted edges are perfectly able to keep the hand in place, even when making sudden movements. It has four pads on the bottom to slide on most surfaces, but once in a while, you can also use a nice mouse pad.

This special edition in collaboration with Aimlab gave me the benefit of a relatively simple, albeit rather large, software-designed mouse pad. If you’re not familiar with Aimlab, it’s an aiming training program commonly used by professional gamers.
Whether you put your fingers all over the shell of the mouse or if you are the type to put your hand on the claw grip, the Asus ROG Harpe Ace remains efficient because the clicks are very long and never block the pulp of mouse. Your finger.
In terms of weight and shape, the Asus is right on target, although these criteria are somewhat subjective. From my experience as an FPS player, I still find it more pleasant to have a light weight to balance sudden movements, but the proposal remains very good, and a good bet for Asus.
A simple mouse but not without potential
Simple doesn’t mean bad and Asus showed us that. Apart from its very light weight, this model has very low latency through its ROG AimPoint optical sensor. When playing at 240Hz, I didn’t experience any latency or acceleration that bothered my gaming experience.

Obviously, not everything is done without concessions and therefore Asus does not offer any memory to save profiles, and as you noticed, no frills or backlighting (except the wheel) for Asus ROG Harp Ace. The brand’s aim is above all to offer an ultra-lightweight mouse that perfectly suits the needs of competitive game players.
Battery life is excellent as you can use it for around 90 hours before it needs to be recharged via its USB-C cable.

Armory Crate driver software remains your best friend (or your worst enemy) to customize your experience by directly viewing your sensitivity, calibrating your sensor and even changing your wheel backlight .
We should all underline the effort of Asus that offers a sensible and elegant design that removes us from the clichés attached to gamers with designs that are sometimes funny or even in poor taste. The ROG Harp Ace says goodbye to all of that for a simple gaming experience with all of Asus’ know-how.

Conclusion
Strong points
- A perfect weight
- A classic but very effective shape
- The clicks are perfectly adapted to different ways of playing (finger, palm)
The Asus ROG Harpe Ace is a mouse that borrows features from many older Asus models to create an almost perfect experience. Its round shape with hollow clicks, but ESPECIALLY its weight of only 54 grams make it the main argument for gamers. No matter how you hold the mouse, the Asus ROG Harp Ace adapts very well despite the very simple look it brings back.
