The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is finally here after all the rumours, reports and renders. Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series today, February 1, 2023. Before the launch, there were many rumors about the smartphones’ features and specifications. Now all the facts are in and as usual we will talk about the main highlights of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a quad camera setup on the back. The main camera is a 200MP sensor that also has optical image stabilization. It has a 10MP periscope lens and another 10MP telephoto lens.
With the Periscope lens, you can zoom up to 10x optically while the telephoto lens can give you up to 3x optical zoom. The 4th lens is an ultra-wide 12-megapixel sensor with a 120-degree viewing angle. It also has a Super Steady Video mode for better video recording. This device can also record 8K video at 24 fps and 30 fps.

Along with the technical specifications of the smartphone, it has some really cool photography features. Samsung introduced what they call Photo Nightography. This feature uses AI and processing software to take night mode photos to another level. With Photo Nightography, you can also take crisp and clean portrait photos just like a real pro camera would.

Another cool camera feature that Samsung has introduced in the smartphone is a feature called AI Aware. With this feature, you can easily separate a photo from a group photo and share it or use it for whatever you want. All of this is made possible by Samsung’s new AI algorithm and improved software processing.

Other Features of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 
Samsung also talked about a feature called Share it. This feature will come in handy for those who don’t want the quality of the files they share to change. With “Share It”, you can share full size videos and photos with pristine quality.
The S23 Ultra comes with a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. This new processor comes with a 34% performance improvement over its predecessor. GPU-wise, you also get up to 41% more GPU performance with improved Ray Tracing for a better gaming experience.
Service mode
Samsung also talked about the maintenance mode feature during the launch event. With this feature, you don’t have to worry about your privacy when you bring your phone to the service store. You can lock all your important data and apps so that no third party can access them. They can only access the parts of the phone that you allow them to.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display. It has a resolution of 1440 x 3088 pixels with 501 ppi and 1750 nits at peak brightness. The Samsung S23 Ultra is also the first smartphone with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen protection.

The phone is built on an aluminum frame with glass front and back. Samsung says it used around 80% recycled materials to build the rear glass of the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This time, the South Korean company used recycled materials to build the interior and exterior parts.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has 3 different storage options to choose from. First, we have the main one with 8GB / 256GB of storage. Then there are 12GB/256 to 12GB/1TB versions.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra also has a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging speed. Samsung says the device can charge from 0-65% in 30 minutes. You also get 10W wireless charging and 4.5W wireless reverse charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with One UI 5.1 out of the box. As usual with Samsung, you get 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates.

With this new flagship device, there are four different color options to choose from. You get Phantom Black, Green, Cream, and Lavender. The smartphone is currently on pre-order. You may need to check with your local retail stores to pre-order. The starting price of the device is $1,199.
