The Bugatti W16 Mistral has arrived in Asia, a new leg of its world tour that began this summer in North America, then Europe and the Middle East. Bugatti’s ultimate roadster is now making a stop in the world’s most populous city, which is also one of the most important financial centers on the planet: Tokyo.

A dynamic metropolis, known for its advanced technology, rich culture and vast heritage, Tokyo is a city that harmoniously combines tradition and modernity. Visitors can discover temples that are more than 1,000 years old as well as admire some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. The W16 Mistral1which captures more than 100 years of Bugatti history while utilizing the latest innovations in automotive design, is like a fish out of water here.

One of his first stops in Japan: the Kanda Myojin Shrine, considered one of the oldest temples in Tokyo. Its timeless architectural style distinguishes it from the extreme modernity of the metropolis. Years of tradition are combined here with the latest technologies, as in the W16 Mistral.

The W16 Mistral also passed over Oishi Park, facing Lake Kawaguchi, with Mount Fuji in the background. Here, between the dog and the wolf, before night falls, the “X”-shaped rear light serves as a beacon that paves the way for tomorrow’s design.

The W16 Mistral stopped at Gora Kadan, a hotspot for international tourism. Formerly the retreat of the imperial family, Gora Kadan is a harmonious blend of nature – with its natural hot springs – of tradition and luxury, awakening the five senses. The W16 Mistral – whose name evokes the strong winds that blow from the Rhône Valley to the Mediterranean – is also directly inspired by nature but also recalls the tradition of Bugatti with a specific gear lever containing the sculpture “The Dancing Elephant” by Rembrandt Bugatti, Ettore’s brother.

In 2021, the Bugatti showroom in Tokyo was inaugurated under the management of Sky Group, Bugatti’s official partner. With its portfolio of leading luxury brands, the group has accumulated decades of experience in satisfying the needs and wants of its customers. On the occasion of its visit to Japan, the W16 Mistral took over the center of Bugatti’s showroom and the brand’s customers were invited to the official presentation evening held at a world-famous starred restaurant located nearby.

Kostas Psarris, Regional Director Asia and Middle East at Bugatti: “Bugatti always feels naturally at home in Tokyo and Japan. Our brand is guided both by our traditions, but also by the latest developments in technology, engineering and design. The W16 Mistral perfectly embodies our values, coming from a long line of legendary Bugatti roadsters, and always pushing the limits of the imaginable a little further by reaching unparalleled levels of performance and luxury . It was a great honor to discover the gems of Japan and share our latest creation with Bugatti’s international clients in Tokyo. Many of our customers here are among the most passionate Bugatti collectors in the world. Japan is also one of the countries where we deliver the most hyper sports cars. »

After its visit to Tokyo, the W16 Mistral will continue its world tour by visiting the island of Singapore.

Highly recognized by collectors around the world, 99 copies of the W16 Mistral were sold even before the car’s official launch. Roadster renovations will begin this year in Molsheim with customers.
