Renault, Peugeot, Citroën… from the Artcurial sale at Rétromobile 2023

A Retromobile Show without an auction is no longer on the cards! Every year, the Artcurial auction house sets the bar a little higher. The list of models includes some very nice Ferraris (including a 250 LM), an incredible collection of Mercedes-AMGs and nuggets like Johnny Hallyday’s Porsche 911 SC Alméras or Jean-Paul Belmondo’s resuscitated Mustang in “Le Marginal”. . Among the headliners, some French models work well such as the Bugatti Type 35C or Type 57 Atalante and the many Facel Vega. And the most famous of all? there is!

This Bugatti Type 35 C dates back to 1929. That year it took 4th place in the Monaco GP. Formerly Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s car, it has been in the Bart Rosman collection since 1997. It is estimated at a minimum of 2.5 million euros.

Here are the timeless Citroën 2CV, Peugeot 205 and Renault 4L
Three Peugeot 205s are on the list… in rare and desirable T16, Rallye or GTI Le Mans versions! At Renault, some great sports cars (R5 Turbo and R8 Gordini in particular) cling to the shoulders of the Alpine A110 and a GTA collector. At Citroën, a BX 4TC, a CX 25 GTI and a Xantia V6 complete the range of these sports cars.
The 205 T16 is 40 years old! This copy offered at Rétromobile has known 4 owners during its career. The car has covered 37,200 km since new, although its counter only indicates 6,200. Produced in 200 copies, this sacred number can start at 350,000 € minimum.

Here is a 1975 Alpine A110 with the 5-speed gearbox of a 1600 S. This example has been extensively restored (+ €20,000 of work) and has only had 2 owners. It is estimated between 70,000 and 100,000 €.

The BX, whose 40th anniversary is celebrated in 2022, is presented here in its ultra-sporty 4TC version. This example has been owned by the same owner since 1988. It has only 37,115 km. It is estimated between 80 and 120,000 €.

This 2CV 6 Club has the particularity of having only 124 km from new! It does not appear to have been registered, but has a Dutch title. This is one of the last copies. This is estimated at a minimum of €20,000.

Note to sedan lovers… Here is an R25 V6 Turbo Baccara with only 3,780 km from new. The model is an old executive car recovered from the Renault collections. It is estimated between 15 and 25,000 €.

This 205 is not a GTI like the others. This is the special Le Mans series sold in only 84 copies. It has benefited from a major restoration and is heavily optioned. Estimate: €25,000, minimum.

This example is the second in the line of Renault 5 Turbos. Presented in an Olympe Blue color, this fabricated model in a superb original summer is offered without reserve price. Estimate between 130 and 180,000 €.

The Thousand Miles series was produced in only 100 copies. This Alpine GTA V6 is one of 20 units with air conditioning. It has only had two owners and less than 20,000 km on the odometer. Estimate: €25 to €35,000.

Only 34 copies of Chapron’s Citroën DS19 Carbiolet “Le Caddy” were produced. He is originally from Norway. A rare example with red upholstery and white dress estimated at between €120 and 180,000.

many low mileage models are also offered, like this R25 Baccara with less than 4,000 kilometers on the odometer, this 2 CV 6 with only 124 km or even this GSA Pallas that covers only 3,434 km in 40 years. On the estimation side, they make a big difference. Count between 6,000 and 10,000 euros to be the owner of an Espace 1 Turbo D and at least 2 million euros for a Bugatti.

Renault Classic breaks away from this Espace 1. The model is in “fantastic” condition according to the auction house. This is a Turbo diesel version with less than 120,000 km on the clock. Estimate: between €6 and €10,000.
