Samsung Galaxy Unpacked February 2023: What to expect and how to watch it

The first Samsung event of 2023 has been officially announced, and it is expected to unveil the long-awaited Galaxy S23 series along with other Samsung products. Naturally, many are interested about the release date and official price of the handsets. In this article, we will tell you how to watch the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event and what you can expect from it.

Unlike in past years, Samsung will host an in-person Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00 am PT (6:00 pm UK; 11:30 pm India).

The event will take place at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco and will be streamed live on Samsung’s YouTube channel, and the company’s Newsroom portal.

The Galaxy S23 series will be launched during Galaxy Unpacked 2023

We already have a good idea of the improvements that the Galaxy S23 series will bring. One of those improvements is a new 200MP primary camera for the Galaxy S23 Ultra that should offer better low-light performance and zoom capabilities. The S23 Ultra will use pixel binning technology to offer three different resolutions: 12MP, 50MP and 200MP.

The base Galaxy S23 and S23+ will get a slight design refresh, but the S23 Ultra will retain the overall design of its predecessor. Official images leaked on German site WinFuture show the devices. The look is almost the same from the front, but you can see the new camera design on the back.

All Galaxy S23 models will receive the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in all regions; Samsung is ditching Exynos due to its continued poor performance compared to Snapdragon. This is good news for buyers in Europe and India who usually get Exynos variants of Samsung flagships.

According to leaks, the S23+ and S23 Ultra will have base storage of 256GB, and all models will start with 8GB of RAM. The details for all three models have been reported in full on Twitter.

Pricing information is not yet concrete, but insiders say the handsets will be priced in the Galaxy S22 series, at least in the US; other regions may see price increases. The leaks suggest four color options: Phantom Black, Cotton Flower, Botanic Green, and Misty Lilac.

What else can we see?

Apart from the Galaxy S23 series, we are also likely to see the Galaxy Book 3 series. We know this because Samsung is offering up to $100 in store credit if you reserve an unspecified Galaxy Book laptop and Galaxy smartphone from the official that website.

Rumors suggest that Samsung will unveil a new “Ultra” class Galaxy Book, namely the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra. Given the ambitions of the Ultra brand, we expect the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra to be the best all-around Windows laptop of 2023, but that’s something that better reviewers can judge.

Once pre-orders open, you can use your Samsung store credit to lower the price of your new Galaxy phone and laptop, in addition to receiving a bundled gift like the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro or Galaxy Watch 5. If a laptop isn’t suit you, you can always reserve a Galaxy smartphone and get a $50 credit instead.

The best of Samsung is here

Samsung releases new products throughout the year, and its Galaxy S series gets the most attention. If you’re an enthusiast or looking to upgrade to a new phone, you should definitely watch the Galaxy Unpacked event in February to see all the improvements Samsung is making behind the scenes.

In addition to the S23 series, we also expect to see other Samsung products this year, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, Galaxy A54, and more.
