The second more comfortable version

At first glance, nothing changes between the previous models and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. They keep their rounded format, but are in fact 15% more compact than the first models. The same goes for weight, as each earbud weighs 5.5g in size, compared to 6.3g for previous models.

They offer good passive isolation, all boosted by active noise reduction. According to the brand, the three external microphones provided for this purpose are more effective than the first Buds Pro of the name. Overall, it was successful, but it struggled to convince in the face of increasingly aggressive competition. As for the Transparency mode, this will allow you to stay focused on your surroundings.

New features

This second iteration mainly brings a new codec “hi-fi” named SSC Hi-Fi, for Samsung Seamless Codec Hi-Fi. the SBC. On the other hand, to take advantage of it, you will need to have a Samsung smartphone running version 4 of One UI.

Samsung also makes its headphones compatible with 360-degree audio and with virtualization in 5.1 or 7.1 if you’re listening or watching compatible content. As for autonomy, Samsung announces up to five hours of use with active noise reduction and up to 18 hours thanks to the case. Without active noise reduction, the autonomy can be increased to 8 hours with only headphones and 29 hours when charging the case. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro case is also compatible with Qi wireless charging by induction.
