Mazda MX-30 R-EV
No restyling or renewal for Mazda’s first 100% electric model. The change is of a technical nature because the Mazda MX-30 R-EV will have in its engine compartment, in addition to the 145 hp electromotor, another block that will be thermal and rotary this one. This is a small Wankel engine that will serve as a range extender. The Mazda MX-30 actually suffers from a reduced range of 200 km (WLTP) and with this range extender to be used to charge the battery, the range should improve significantly. Remember, BMW also did this with its BMW i3, Mazda took the idea by changing it with Wankel sauce, from its German name that designed the first rotary engine that Mazda first put in a series model (Mazda Cosmo Sports 110S ) in 1967. The Mazda MX-30 R-EV SUV should have its world premiere at the Brussels European Motor Show (opening to the public from January 14 to 24, 2023).
The Audi Q3 arrives mid-race and will get a small facelift. It will concern the front with a modified grille, while at the rear the light signature will undergo an evolution, as well as the design of the shield. On the board we should see the buttons for the air conditioning instead of the wheels of the current model, the lever of the auto box should give way to a simpler more modern joystick. Engines and road behavior should not be subject to changes, the Audi Q3 that sells well is not necessary for the Ingolstadt manufacturer to spoil everything.
Mercedes GLA (restyling)
Decorated with pieces of glue on the stern and on the bow, the prototype of the restyled Mercedes GLA moves on the road. The facelift should be minimal as far as the exterior of the model is concerned and at the front we will see a new interior architecture of headlamps, a slightly revised grille and modified shields. At the rear, changes will be more limited to different interior graphics of the lights. The restyling will also have something to do with the passenger compartment, the Mercedes GLA will have to stop at the Mercedes Class A whose restyled version was announced in 2022.

Under a thick camouflage, the prototype of the next generation of Peugeot 3008 takes the expense of the edge of Scandinavia. To differentiate itself from the current opus, the Peugeot 3008 will offer its own SUV coupé look with a receding roofline and a steeply sloping tailgate. To hide this difference, the prototype shows a special camouflage on the rear side. More diesel under the hood of this model, which will be available with a mild-hybrid 48 V 136 hp petrol engine, with two new plug-in hybrid engines of 180 and 200 hp that will adopt a new dual-clutch electrified gearbox designed by PSA /Punch Powertrain. There will also be an electric (for the Peugeot e-3008) with several power levels, as the Peugeot e-3008 can be equipped with one or two electric motors (all-wheel drive). Autonomy should reach, or even exceed, 500 km. Made in France, the Peugeot 3008 will receive in 2024 the support of the new Peugeot 5008 which will maintain a more cubic silhouette for better interior space in the rear.
Volkswagen Tiguan 3
Still heavily camouflaged, the new Volkswagen Tiguan is undergoing its final tests before it goes on sale at the end of the year. The new Volkswagen Tiguan should see its dimensions evolve to be more family-friendly than in the past. Based on the MQB multi-energy platform, this model will still have a wide range of engines. There will be micro-hybrid gasoline and diesel thermal blocks as well as plug-in hybrids.
Introducing the new generation BMW X2 for launch at the beginning of 2024. This new opus takes the technical basis of the BMW X1 as well as its engines. It can also exist in a 100% electric version with the engine and batteries of the BMW iX1. The new generation BMW X2 will model its styling on the BMW X1 with the differences of more sloping rear pillars and a receding roof line. This is the BMW X1 that will also lend its interior furnishings with a dashboard equipped with two large curved screens, a central console and a minimum of physical controls.
To cover the ground at the end of the year, Dacia must present the new generation of its favorite model, the Dacia Duster. A model whose style will be inspired by the Dacia Bigster concept car (photo). New platform for this model, of Renault Clio 5, and new engines under the bonnet, especially the new 130 hp 48 V 1.2 Tce micro-hybrid gasoline unit (that of Renault Austral), hybrid 1.6 E-Tech 140 hp , and for the 4×4 electric version, an electric motor placed on the rear axle along with the 1.2 TCe driving the front wheels. There will still be a petrol/LPG offering of 100 hp at launch and then 120 hp later thanks to the 1.2 Tce modified for this use. It is worth noting that this model is no longer available with a diesel engine. Slightly larger than the current Dacia Duster, this model will be positioned as an alternative to compact SUVs for the price of a city SUV, later the seven-seater Dacia Bigster will strengthen Dacia’s SUV offer and compete with family SUVs . The new Dacia Duster after its presentation at the end of the year should be marketed in the first half of 2024.
The new generation Mazda CX-5 arrives at the end of the year. This SUV will have a long bonnet to house a six-cylinder in-line engine that will also power the future generation Mazda 6. The presence of this six-cylinder unit will lead to a change in architecture since new Mazda CX-5 can be a rear-wheel-drive model, although there is also a four-wheel-drive version. Its styling should be inspired by the Mazda MX-30 electric model. A higher model than the current generation, the Mazda CX-5 may later receive a “coupé” body variant that may be called the Mazda CX-50. Both models will use the same engines. That is, six cylinders in line of 3 liters in gasoline and 3.3 in diesel, they will show a power of 285 hp. You will also find under the hood 2.5 petrol four-cylinder blocks of 190 hp or 230 hp micro-hybridized at 48 V and also a plug-in hybrid engine.
