Samsung Unveils SmartThings Station at CES 2023, Making the Smarter Home Accessible to Everyone
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the launch of SmartThings Station, an affordable and easy-to-use smart home hub and fast charger.
As the smart home market continues to grow, users need a simple, interoperable, and reliable way to connect more devices. SmartThings Station offers quick setup and compatibility with a range of smart home products, including Matter devices, with the simplicity users have come to expect from Samsung. With the SmartThings Station, users can automate various aspects of their home environment, set routines that add convenience to their day and easily turn off lights and appliances to save energy.

A smarter home, with less effortyou
Samsung’s SmartThings Station is easy to set up. When the user turns on the device for the first time, pop-up messages will appear on the user’s Samsung Galaxy smartphone to guide users through the connection process smoothly. Users can also choose the option of efficient on-board devices with a simple scan of the QR code using the smartphone camera.
Intuitively adapts to users’ daily tasks
A smart home hub helps multiple devices, including thermostats, lights, and electrical outlets, seamlessly interact with other devices connected to the smart home server so they all work together to create a harmonious environment . SmartThings Station makes it easy to automate preset tasks created through the SmartThings mobile app without requiring users to manually control individual devices.
By pressing the smart button on the SmartThings station, users can activate a routine created in their SmartThings app. For example, when it’s time to sleep, a simple tap can trigger a sleep routine, which can turn off lights, close blinds and lower the temperature. Or, if movie night is planned, a movie routine can turn on the TV and dim the lights. When you leave the house, the SmartThings station can turn off electrical outlets and unused devices to save energy and activate the security system. Users may also want a gaming routine, which can turn on specific TV and lighting settings and turn on “Do Not Disturb” mode.
Consumers can trigger up to three different tasks at the touch of the smart button, via short press, long press or double tap activations. Routines can also be activated via the SmartThings app, whether people are at home or away.
Find and manage your devices around the house more precisely
SmartThings Station is also integrated with Samsung’s SmartThings Find, a growing asset tracking service. This helps users find lost devices – double-tapping the smart button can ring your nearby phone, making it easier to find.
Acting as an always-on device scanner, SmartThings Station helps Samsung Galaxy users track the location of their saved devices – from smartphones, tablets, watches and headphones to personal items such as of keys or wallets that have a Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+ device connected. By regularly scanning for devices, SmartThings Station will show users the location of connected smart devices or tags around the home and share an alert on the user’s smartphone when a tag or device leaves or returns home .
A fast charger that fits perfectly into a smart home
The SmartThings Station is also a powerful charger that supports up to 15W wireless charging. Fast charging is a great addition to a Smart Home hub because it adapts well to the pace of life. Users can choose to receive an alert when charging is complete so they can pick up the game where they left off or switch to charge another device.
