As the NFL world gathered to pray for Damar Hamlin, Skip Bayless dropped a heartless tweet that sparked calls for him to be fired.
Monday Night Football ended in horrific circumstances as the game between the Bills and Bengals was suspended after Damar Hamlin was taken off the field in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
Hamlin went down after making a tackle. He had to be resuscitated on the pitch as the players and coaches of both teams were visibly shaken.
Fans, media and the sports world reacted widely on Twitter expressing their concern and sending wishes to Hamlin and his family.
As for Skip Bayless, he made a fool of himself with the most soulless tweet of the century.
“There’s no doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game this big is so important to the outcome of the regular season … that it suddenly seems irrelevant. »
The rest of Twitter came for Bayless immediately.
NFL Twitter calls for Skip Bayless to be fired after Damar Hamlin’s tweet.
Bayless is a thrill seeker. He makes a living saying inflammatory things and getting a reaction out of them. So in a way, it’s not a surprise.
However, you’d think Bayless would understand that it’s not right to turn the situation into football storylines. A person’s life depends on balance. It’s literally the only thing that matters. Not the playoffs. Not the ranking. Not week 17.
Forty minutes after it was tweeted, Bayless did not delete the tweet, despite extensive reporting. That probably says it all.
