In terms of laptops, Asus ROG has gotten us used to crazy concepts or models with every new release. But this year, it will be nothing. Blame it on a laptop market plagued by complicated forecasts and above all on a well-stocked ROG range, with at least 13 different models, just counting the chassis.

Hybrids: Flow X13, X16 and Z13

The range of hybrids therefore changes only at the level of on-board components. Flow X13 (13.4 inches) and Flow X16 (16 inches) are laptops for gaming purposes whose screen rotates completely. Both are equipped with a GeForce RTX 4070 with a TGP of 60 W for the X13 and 120 W for the X16: in other words, the performance is more in favor of the 16 inches. The latter will carry a 13th generation Intel Core H-series processor, while the 13-inch will be supplied by AMD with Ryzen 7000. On the screen side, the X13 will be available with QHD 165 Hz or Full HD 120 Hz IPS. panel, the X16 is even more generous by embedding a 240 Hz QHD IPS panel with optional Mini-Led backlighting.

The Flow Z13 takes the X13’s screen at 165 Hz, along with the X16’s processor. On the other hand, the graphics part is entrusted to a GeForce RTX 4060 (65 W).

As a reminder, the Flow range has a specific port to connect to an external graphics card. This year, we’re entitled to the GeForce RTX 4090, but (beware!)

The Flow X13, X16 and Z13 will be available in the first quarter of 2023 from 1899, 2499 and 2099 € respectively.

Thin and compact: Zephyrus M16, G14, G16 and Duo 16

ROG’s Zephyrus combines thin and compact laptops. We note the Zephyrus M16 (2.2 cm and 2.1 kg) with a 16-inch QHD 240 Hz panel and a Mini-Led option; it is powered by a 13 Gen Intel Core H-series processor and a 145W GeForce RTX 4090.

The Zephyrus G14, equipped with a 14-inch QHD 165 Hz panel with a Mini-Led option, is equipped with a Ryzen 700 and a 125 W GeForce RTX 4090. These two models can be equipped with the AnimeMatrix option, which displays animation on the bonnet, which this year has more LEDs.

For lovers of dual screens, Asus also renews the Zephyrus Duo 16, this year with the Ryzen 7000 and – hold on tight – a 165 W GeForce RTX 4090. This feat is made possible thanks to the lifting mechanism on the second screen when opening the hood.
Like the Flow X16, it features a 16-inch QHD panel at 240 Hz with a Mini-Led option.

Zephyrus’ ugly duckling, the G16, positioned between an M16 and a G14. It serves as entry-level, with the 13th generation Intel Core H-series processor and its GeForce RTX 4070 at 120 W. There are two variants for its 16-inch IPS panel: QHD at 240 Hz or Full HD at 165 Hz. Available this quarter from 2099 €, it is more affordable than the M16 at 1799 €, the G14 at 2499 € or the Duo 16 which presents a stratospheric price of 4499 €.

The heart of the wheel: Strix Scar 16,17 18 and G16, G17, G18

Finally, the most powerful ROG laptop can be found in the Strix Scar range, available in 16.17 and 18 inches, with slightly watered-down variants: the Strix G16, G17 and 18.

The Strix Scar 16 and 18 feature a 13th generation Intel Core HX series processor coupled with a 175 W RTX 4090, all accompanied by a maximum of 64 GB of DDR5 and 4 TB of SSD. There are two options for each IPS panel size: at 16 inches QHD 240 Hz with or without Mini-Led, and at 18 inches a QHD panel of 240 Hz and – more unusual – a Full HD panel of 165 Hz according in interest. doubtful. The Stix Scar 17, for its part, will opt for an AMD Ryzen 7000 and a maximum of 2TB of SSD “only”. The Strix Scar 16 and 18 will be available this quarter starting at €3999; the Scar 17 is €200 cheaper.

There is no Mini-Led option for the screen in these versions, but a simple 240Hz QHD IPS panel or even Full HD at 165 Hz. Like the Scars, the 17-inch version of the G is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7000 processor, while the GPU is entrusted to the RTX 4070 with 140 W of TGP. The Strix G will be available this first quarter from €1699 for the G16, €2299 for the G17 and €2399 for the G18.
