Zapping on Autonews Green Concept cars of the year 2022 on video
It has almost become a tradition. Every winter, car manufacturers set up in Sweden, near the Arctic Circle, to test their future models in extreme conditions. And our spy photographers are also on a journey to immortalize these prototypes before their release. The latest, at the time of writing, is the new Volkswagen Tiguan.
A prototype of the new generation family SUV actually appears in these photos taken by our image hunters. If this test mule is not covered by standard camouflage, it is nevertheless camouflaged to cover the tracks. Stickers cover the headlights, grille and taillights to obscure the new Tiguan’s appearance. Also, the tailpipes are fake.

However, we can guess in these spyshots a new grille that stretches from one end to the other side of the front. The third-generation Tiguan also appears wider than the previous model. According to our informants, its final design may be inspired by the Touareg and the Volkswagen ID.4. The interior will also be affected by the ID.4, but will have a larger touchscreen than the electric SUV coupe.

There are no official information filters about the machines that will be offered under the hood. However, our spies are clearly considering an electrification of the Tiguan, with light hybridization and even rechargeable hybrid in the most high-end versions. An electric variant of the Tiguan will also see the light of day.
The presentation of the new Volkswagen Tiguan is expected in the course of 2023, before marketing in 2024.
