The Galaxy A range is very important to Samsung. The latter also represents more than 50% of the brand’s sales in 2021. Therefore, newcomers are carefully evaluated.
It’s a safe bet that the South Korean release schedule will be reversed compared to previous years. The chaebol has really decided to push the release of its smartphones this year. While the Galaxy A53 was announced in March, its successor could be presented in January 2023. The famous leaker OnLeaks has already shared 3D renders of the device (in partnership with 91mobiles). While this information should of course be taken with a pinch of salt, the information provided seems completely credible.
On the front, there was no big fuss. We are faced with a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel, which is 0.1 inch less than the Galaxy A53. It still displays in Full HD + (1080 x 2400 pixels) and still offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It should again accept a fingerprint reader. The front sensor can be found in a punch centered at the top of the screen.
On the right, there are the power and volume buttons, while a speaker is located right next to the USB-C port, on the top edge. The SIM card drawer is also placed on the top edge, next to the microphone.

At the back, we noticed that the slightly protruding photo island has disappeared. We noticed the presence of three sensors (against last year’s four) slightly protruding from the back of the smartphone. The Galaxy Club site thinks the brand would have opted for a 50 Mpx main sensor this time instead of the 64 Mpx module found on the Galaxy A52, A52s and A53.

The Galaxy A54 could have a 5100 mAh battery. This specifically explains the increase in thickness of 1 mm compared to the Galaxy A53, which has a 5000 mAh battery.
No information has been leaked about the SoC used but, if this schedule is confirmed, we should know more in the coming weeks.
