Samsung Galaxy A54: Release date, price and other rumours

Samsung’s Galaxy A series smartphones are a blend of performance and affordability.

In March 2022, the company released the latest iteration of its series, consisting of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and A33 5G. Since then, new rumors have surfaced about the successor to the A53.

Here’s everything we know so far about him.

When will the Samsung Galaxy A54 be released?

There is no official release date for the Galaxy A54 yet, but we have a small idea of when it will be out based on the launch of previous models:

  • Samsung Galaxy A53 5G – March 2022
  • Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G – September 2021
  • Samsung Galaxy A52 5G – March 2021
  • Samsung Galaxy A51 – April 2020

It seems clear that the usual release date is around March and April for the Series A entries. So, the Galaxy A54 could be seeing the light of day around the same time in 2023.

What will be the price of Samsung Galaxy A54?

As for the release date, there is no confirmed price for the Galaxy A54 as of this writing. Again, we can look to its predecessors for the price tag. Here’s how they line up:

What will be the features of the Samsung Galaxy A54?

As you probably gathered, Samsung has not yet made any announcement about the Galaxy A54, so we have to rely on rumors and past performance to imagine what it will look like.

Designer Technizo Concepts has teamed up with Lets Go Digital again to create some beautiful renders of the Galaxy A54. In addition to the various images posted on the site, there is also a full video on its YouTube channel that showcases a very aesthetically pleasing device.

Although these images are purely speculative and not taken from official information, they have been created with great attention to detail, taking inspiration from Samsung’s current ethos. For example, the front has symmetrical borders like on the Samsung Galaxy S22, we cannot find the slightly wider border at the bottom that we currently have on the Galaxy A53 5G.

On the back we also see that the camera bump has been moved to a cleaner platform where the lenses are uncovered. It is closer to the design used in the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The OnLeaks leaker also recently released a 3D rendering of the smartphone that will use certain codes introduced by Samsung. Here is the picture:

Galaxy Club reports some more details about the upcoming phone’s features, such as a 50MP primary camera.

The site also indicates that the phone will pack a slightly larger battery, with a nominal capacity of 4905 mAh. The A53’s are rated at 4860mAh, and advertised as 5000mAh, so that probably means the A54 is officially listed at either 5050mAh or 5100mAh.

A better processor

We recently saw reports claiming that Samsung is working on developing custom processors for its Galaxy line. By doing so, the company could limit the development of the Exynos line, as its resources would be deployed elsewhere.

This means we could see Qualcomm processors in all Samsung devices next year, which means a performance boost for customers in Europe and India.

Both the A52 and A52s are powered by more than adequate Snapdragon 7-series processors. XDA Developers has already reported that Qualcomm will offer new Snapdragon 7 chips, so let’s hope that the Galaxy A54 will get better performance with this silicon.

More RAM

Depending on the configuration available in your region, the A53 5G is equipped with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM.

We hope that the Galaxy A54 will ship by default with the highest version of this option.

Faster charging time

If the autonomy of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is impressive, the recharge times are not. Limited to just 25W, it took about two hours for the discharged battery to return to 100%.

Even at the lower end of the price scale, that’s average, especially when some cheaper Android phones charge in just over 30 minutes.
