A refined and durable watch

The Galaxy Watch 5 looks very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 4. However, it can boast of having a more solid construction than the previous version, as its sapphire crystal screen is 60% more resistant to scratches than before. We also appreciate having the IP68 certification which prevents it from being removed every time you shower or swim (in a swimming pool).

Otherwise, the Galaxy Watch 5 is still a pleasure to wear. It’s a lightweight watch that’s easy to forget on the wrist with a small circular format of 40 mm (there’s a 44 mm version). Although the Pro version opted for titanium, the Watch 5 has an aluminum case that is still successful. As for the 1.2-inch screen, it provides good image quality with OLED and displays a definition of 396 x 396 pixels (compatible Always On Display).

The Galaxy Watch 5 includes multiple sensors. Sleep tracking is still in the game as well as snoring detection. On the sports side, it’s able to detect more than 90 sports activities and has GPS, which lacked accuracy during our testing.

In its fifth iteration, Samsung improves autonomy. The Watch 5 is equipped with a battery of 284 mAh versus 247 mAh on the Watch 4. A slight increase, which allows you to last more than a day depending on your usage. A power saving mode is offered to use it longer, but cuts out most of the interesting features.

So it is far from being the longest, you have to go to the Watch 5 Pro to have better autonomy. It exceeded two days of use. Finally, he you only need 30 minutes to go from 0% to 45% charge.
