The Asus VivoBook R415JA-EK2040W against the competition

If this Asus laptop does not fully meet your needs, we invite you to consult our cheap laptop guide, you will find other similar laptops that can be a good alternative to the Asus VivoBook R415JA-EK2040W.
Chassis, connectors, screen of Asus VivoBook R415JA-EK2040W
With its thin and light light silver design, it presents an elegant and discreet look.
It works with Windows 11S, a system that focuses on security by only allowing the installation of applications from the Windows Store. You can exit S mode for free to switch to classic Windows 11, but it is impossible to return to S mode.
In any case, the connection included in this Ultrabook is good, consisting of 1 USB-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless module for remote connections and communication, a practical HDMI video output for easy connection on this computer to a TV or a monitor for example, an audio port but there are also 2 USB (compatible USB 2.0 and USB 3.0), USB 3.0 which guarantees transfers made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if plug in a USB 3.0 device.
As with any laptop in a format less than 15 inches, there is not enough space to the right of the keyboard to place a physical numeric keypad.
However, when you want to enter numbers easily, you can activate the NumberPad (NumPad) technology offered by Asus, which then transforms the touchpad into a tactile numeric keypad.

Thanks to its anti-reflective treatment, the screen is more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a glossy panel. In addition, it is suitable for displaying High Definition content such as videos due to its accurate Full HD definition that is larger than the standard 1366×768 and its 16: 9 format.
Performance, autonomy of the Asus VivoBook R415JA-EK2040W
The Asus VivoBook R415JA-EK2040W is a responsive High Definition compact laptop designed for everyday use.
In this area as in surfing the Internet and office automation, it delivers excellent performance because it relies on a good amount of 8 GB RAM, which is very useful in multitasking, as well as a low -power Ice Lake Core i3-1005G1 processor.
The latter directly integrates the Intel UHD 620, a graphics solution thanks to which you can watch photos and videos but it will not attract gamers.
Note, however, that like AMD Ryzen 3 and less powerful processors, the Core i3-1005G1 shows its limitations under applications that require processor resources.
On the storage side, there is a quiet SSD but consumes less energy than a hard drive, more stable and faster.
As a result, an SSD guarantees better responsiveness and fluidity than a hard drive. Thanks to SSD, software start/stop and launch is faster.
With its 256 GB, the SSD included here can accommodate light and/or some files/software. This capacity corresponds to half of what standard hard drives offer.
However, if you need more space, you can use an external storage unit. Opting for a USB-C / USB 3.0 device is an interesting solution to benefit from fast transfers.
As for autonomy, expect around 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook that packs a weight, compactness and finesse that makes it easy to transport.
